Welcome back! Weezer released a funny new video today for “Mexican Fender,” the first single from Pacific Daydream, the new LP that comes out on October 27th via Crush Music/Atlantic Records. There’s no word yet as to the color of the album cover, but we do know that if you’ve ever wondered what happens when a seagull gets sprung over some sideboob, you’re in luck!
The Lillingtons are releasing a new album called Stella Sapiente on October 13th, and we have Fat Wreck Chords to thank for that. In the Brooklyn Vegan premiere, lead Lillington Cody Templeman explains that the new album is “an obvious step in a new direction” and despite that, the first single “Insect Nightmares” is “akin to what people expect from” the band. We expect to see you at Metro on August 26th when The Lillingtons open for 88 Fingers Louie. Listen to “Insect Nightmares” so you can sing along:
Rolling Stone is reporting that a week after he DJs at Riot Fest, Mike D is going to help open a new restaurant in Los Angeles. As the sommelier at Hearth & Hound, Mr. D will curate all of the wine to be paired with acclaimed chef April Bloomfield’s cuisine. The spot is being opened by Ken Friedman, owner of the very delicious Spotted Pig in New York City’s fashionable West Village.
The Foo Fighters played their first ever show in Athens, Greece last month, and of course it was at the Odeon of Herodes Atticus in the Acropolis. Thankfully, somebody thought to bring a few video cameras, and PBS is releasing the footage on November 10th as part of its Chad Smith-hosted series, Landmarks Live in Concert. The trailer does a good job of leaving the viewer wanting more…
