Madrid is nice to walk on leash. She takes her time to sniff and roll on her back in the grass. It’s such a nice change of pace from our pulling energizer bunnies. We hung out in a play lot and she bust out a few zoomies to show she still had some pep in her step, but soon was back to sniffing and exploring. She wasn’t a fan of all the loud noises from the big trucks on the street next to the shelter. They startled her a bit. Madrid loves neck and back scratches and would be a welcome addition to any home. Madrid is a solid lady in every sense. She’s there when you need someone to lean on and has the build to actually physically support too. She’s has a calm presence in her cage and is easy to leash. She walks with purpose but not so much to deem her a puller on leash. Madrid knows sit and wait, no need for any reward but the girl didn’t turn down a few treats here and there. She’s a slobbery cuddle monster when she brushes up for pets or to wipe the crumbs from her mouth. Madrid let me handler her throughly including teeth, paws, and hugs. She even has moments of playfulness with some toys. Best of all, when we had to go inside she didn’t pertest and went right back into her kennel.
Madrid attends dog playgroup. She prefers easy pairings with little to no contact. If dogs try to engage with her physically she will correct them.
