Trinadette has officially spent her 100th day at the shelter. We are so sad that she has not been adopted yet.
Trinadette is still as beautiful as the day she entered CACC with gleaming jet black fur and front paws dipped in white, but she’s lost some of her sparkle. She’s developed redness/stress around her eyes and bounces around like a jumping bean while out in the play yard. The brief daily walk/exercise that she receives at the shelter isn’t nearly enough mental and physical stimulation, particularly for a young, active dog like Trinadette. She came out of her cage easily, more than ready for time outside her cage. She’s a smart cookie, sitting every time I gave the command. Trinadette is SUPER treat-motivated, a good indicator that she has potential to pick up on additional training quickly. When she wasn’t sitting like a good girl for treats, she was diving headfirst into the toy bin, selecting a toy to play fetch with. Although she’s a low-riding, compact gal, she sure can run fast. I tried to let her run around for an extended period of time before bringing her back to her cage, but for her, I’m sure it didn’t seem like nearly long enough.
Trinadette attended playgroup with other dogs. She’d likely prefer a home of her own, but could possibly find a partner who is very tolerant and someone experienced to help Trinadette socialize.
