Following in the footsteps of their highly successful Bandcamp Friday initiative, all purchases on the site today will benefit the NAACP Legal Fund in observation of Juneteenth. Bandcamp will donate 100% of their cut of sales from midnight to midnight PDT today—and every Juneteenth moving forward.
“The current moment is part of a long-standing, widespread, and entrenched system of structural oppression of people of color, and real progress requires a sustained and sincere commitment to political, social, and economic racial justice and change,” Bandcamp’s website reads. The company will also allocate an additional $30,000 a year to create more opportunities for people of color and to partner with organizations fighting for racial justice.
