We sure miss Douglass Park right about now—but festival or no festival, we still want to see the park kept clean. That’s why the Riot Fest Foundation would like to encourage you to Pitch In for the Parks.
Pitch In for the Parks is a city-wide initiative for volunteers to help keep Chicago’s parks clean throughout the summer. (In order to safely do so, masks are required and cleanup groups are no bigger than 50 participants.) As a result of park budgets being stretched thin lately, there are fewer seasonal park employees—this is one solution that goes a long way to help our parks.
There’s one more cleanup for Douglass Park this year: Tuesday, September 29, as well as additional dates for other parks. We’re looking for some Riot Fest fans to help out. All participants will be entered to win a pair of VIP tickets to Riot Fest 2021. If interested, you can sign up for Pitch In for the Parks over at their website, either for Douglass Park or a park near you. But hurry, the initiative ends Oct 4.
