Kraft, no stranger to frivolous enhancements to its renowned macaroni, have outdone themselves this year—unfortunately, it’s candy-flavored and looks like something a surgeon is supposed to remove from your body.
Announced last week, Kraft is rolling out a new variety of their mac & cheese: hot pink, candy-tinged Valentine’s Day macaroni. It looks, quite frankly, revolting. But we’re not complaining, because it’s not being inflicted upon the general masses: only 1,000 (debatably) lucky winners get to taste this forbidden fruit. (You can enter here.)
Just look at the stuff, though—are we really overreacting? Does that look even remotely okay to put through your stomach?
Recoloring food for the holidays is a completely familiar trend (one that’s probably on the rise): Oreos, burger buns, even ketchup dyed green for St. Patrick’s Day are common place these days. We think we’ll sit this one out.
