Premiere: The Methadones – “Love On Layaway” Lyric Video From Their New 7″ EP + Chicago Show

The Methadones haven’t released new music in years and years, but that’s all about to change with this new 7″.  *crowd goes wild*  Two new songs of power-pop-punk-rock!  Hopefully a sign of good things to come? These Chicago heroes are led by the master of melody: Dan Schafer (from The Cheats, Screeching Weasel, Sludgeworth, etc.), and they’ve been heating up with shows from St. Louis to Rotterdam. As for the wax, they teamed up with beloved Dutch label, Stardumb Records, to celebrate their 25th birthday, and we pressed a very limited 7″ as a party favor.  This is one of those things that’s gonna be super scarce, so A) Grab a copy at the show, or B) Hit up mailorder early, or C) Listen to these hits over and over on the internet.  You have options, comrades!

So what exactly is this new song all about? Guitarist and vocalist Dan Schafer explains:

“Love On Layaway” is about “love bombing”.  Building you up to break you down and control you.
