Don’t talk to strangers. Don’t get in cars with strangers. Don’t take free candy kittens from strangers in a Walmart parking lot. These are the basic rules that are engrained in our heads from the day we were born. P.S. Those kittens may or may not have rabies.
Two women in Henry County, Georgia, have given away a litter of kittens to unsuspecting families looking to grow their brood. After scratching one of the new owners and becoming lethargic, veterinary hospital results showed that the kitten tested positive for rabies. The kitten was quickly euthanized as it would not survive a 10 day quarantine. The video surveillance showed the two women giving away 6 kittens in the footage. Officials are trying to track down the remaining 5 kittens and whoever may have handled them.
And this is why we don’t shop at Walmart and like dogs better.
