As of today, Metallica is in charge of their own future. Though operating on a much, much larger scale than most other bands running their own labels, Metallica is now kind of DIY. According to the press release the band renegotiated their contract in 1994 and put in a provision that gave all of the rights to their music and long form videos as of November 30, 2012. As a result they’ve formed the new Blackened Recordings and will kick off the label with the release of their new concert film Quebec Magnetic, which will hit shelves December 10. You can see a trailer for that below. As the band releases more details on future projects I’ll make sure to keep you all informed.
