Earlier this year, Katy Goodman of La Sera (former Vivian Girls member) and Greta Morgan of Springtime Carnivore announced a collaborative album of covers of iconic punk and new wave songs titled, Take It, It’s Yours. The album includes the duo’s interpretations of “Where Eagles Dare” by the Misfits, “Pay to Cum” by Bad Brains, and “Ever Fallen in Love” by the Buzzcocks, among others, with each track reinvented in a more subtle, airy, indie pop sort of fashion.
Depending on your perspective and taste you may either find it a refreshing twist on the classics or… well, let’s face it, purists can be a tough crowd.
