Smokey A158603 • Available for adoption at Chicago ACC
Smokey is a 1-year-old neutered male dog who came into the shelter on 11/18 as a stray. He’s currently one of our longest term dogs, he’s been waiting 69 days for a family.
Smokey is a big strong guy who has lots of energy and is obsessed with balls. He can’t play with them enough! We’re starting to work on trading his toy for a treat, but right now he prefers the toy to the treat. Smokey does know “sit” and holds it pretty well. He’s strong on leash and still needs help learning basic commands, so he will benefit from an experienced adopter who can provide him with leash and manners training (and lots of balls).
Smokey is starting to attend dog playgroup. He is a rough and rowdy player and needs playmates who can match his energetic play style and help him learn how to respond to corrections.
