Science is awesome. It let us know that drinking whiskey can help cure a cold, it confirmed the five-second-rule is real, and it proved that your festival wristband is disgusting.
And now science would like us to know that drinking tequila might be good for you. Maybe.
Dr. Mercedes López, found that blue agave, the plant used to make tequila, contains “substances capable of improving the absorption of calcium and magnesium, essential minerals to maintain bone health.”
In research conducted at the Center for Research and Advanced Studies (Cinvestav) in center Mexico, Dr. López, found that “the consumption of fructans contained in the agave, in collaboration with adequate intestinal micriobiota, promotes the formation of new bone, even with the presence of osteoporosis.”
In short, the study says that a substance found in tequila could be used to prevent osteoporosis. The study does not say you should go out and pound margaritas to help your osteoporosis, but it also does not say you shouldn’t go out and pound margaritas.
Just to be on the safe side, you should probably go ahead and drink as much tequila that you can. Do it for your bones.

So go ahead and take another shot of courage, wonder why the right words never come, you just get numb. It’s another tequila sunrise, this old world still looks the same.
