Daily Riot Fest Roundup

August 15, 2017 // Riot Fest

The schedule of Riot Fest Late Night shows has been announced! The party ain’t gonna stop as soon as Nine Inch Nails, Queens of the Stone Age and Jawbreaker stop playing at 10pm. As usual, there are some dope shows afterwards, and as usual, the tickets will move fast, so have your ticket-buying finger ready this Friday at 10am when they all go on sale!

The dudes from Death From Above have announced Outrage! Is Now, their new album that comes out on September 8th. And to make matters radder, they’ve also dropped a new video, which they filmed on a cell phone in a hotel room. These kids today and their gadgets!

There’s a new Anti-Flag song out today, released in response to the despicable goings-on in Charlottesville over the weekend. Check out “Racists,” and get involved. The band released a statement with the song:

“We must put these symbols of white supremacy into places where the proper context can be provided for what they actually are; outdated, backwards, and antithetical to what we believe the values of humanity should be. It is past time to have real conversations on systemic racism and America’s history of it. There are museums memorializing the Holocaust all across Europe, while America continues to try to hide from its racist and murderous past and present.”

Anti-Flag

What can you do to get involved? Here’s just one thing! Mineral is selling a set of ultra rare vinyl test pressings for their albums The Power of Failing and EndSerenading…only five copies were ever made of each. All proceeds will benefit the Southern Poverty Law Center. More info on the initiative and how you can enter is located here.

“The Southern Poverty Law Center is dedicated to fighting hate and bigotry and to seeking justice for the most vulnerable members of our society. Using litigation, education, and other forms of advocacy, the SPLC works toward the day when the ideals of equal justice and equal opportunity will be a reality.”

You enter by contributing $5—you get one “entry” for every $5 you contribute. Then, one lucky contributor will receive a double 180g test pressing of each record’s 20th anniversary remaster, as well as an autographed 20th anniversary tour laminate, and a shitload of good karma.

Brooklyn Vegan dropped some knowledge today in regards to the band Converge. Looks like the band is releasing its first album since 2012. The Dusk in Us comes out on November 3rd via Epitaph, and here’s a new song, “Under Duress.”

Alternative Press premiered a song from the first new album from The Movielife in 14 years, Cities in Search of a Heart, which comes out on September 22nd via Rise Records. Check out “Ghosts in the Photographs” below.

JUST ANNOUNCED!

The League of Nations Tour, featuring Brendan Kelly, MakeWar and Good Friend, will stumble into the Cobra Lounge on November 5th, thanks to Red Scare. Get your tickets here, however you’re on your own in regards to the party favors. Speaking of parties, remember when Brendan Kelly and David Anthony scarfed a bunch of Arby’s? It doesn’t matter. None of this matters.

And what do you want for dessert after that Arby’s, Brendan Kelly? How’s about a baked Alaska?

Ah yes, baked Alaska: the stupidest dessert of all

We’ll take that as a “FUCK NO!”

Someone be Dessa’s Babelfish!

3rd attempt at ordering a particular regional drink in broken Portuguese. Drank the 2 near misses, a further hindrance to this last try.

Turnspit with one of those terrible awkward moments.

Just made eye contact with a dude eating wings right as he licked his fingers and tbh I think we both hated it equally.
