Dr. Funk was named after a volunteer’s favorite tiki drink, because he is that cool. He’s easy to leash up and get out. He’s strong when he wants to but for a big guy, he’s easy to handle. Dr. Funk probably would’ve marked the entire yard if I’d let him, and if we had that much time. In a smaller area with a volunteer, Dr. Funk is just a big lug who loves treats (and takes them gently). He’s pretty good at catching them, too! He didn’t seem to know any commands, though, but has great focus. Dr. Funk has the tendency to jump up, but will get right down if you tell him to. I was able to handle him with ease; he’s got great big bear paws, a smooshy, jiggly body that loves to be petted, and ears that could use some TLC (one of them is pretty bald on the outside). He was easy to get back inside and into his kennel. Truly a cool dude.
Dr. Funk is part of playgroup where he likes to dance around other dogs, but can be a bit selective with males. He had a lot of nice engagement with female dogs with some chase.
