The Misfits reunion at Riot Fest ’16 was a historical moment, a horror-punk miracle that a lot of diehard fans had given up on ever coming true. Opportunities like such come once or twice in a lifetime—and for local Rockford punk act Egan’s Rats, it was certainly the case back in 2007 when Misfits staple Jerry Only called with a jaw-dropping offer: an opening slot for a Misfits benefit at the historic Coronado Theatre.
