The Daily Riot Fest Roundup

The Daily Riot Fest Roundup

June 1st, 2017
June 1, 2017 (June 6, 2017) // Riot Fest

Today is National Say Something Nice Day, so fuck you. And on to the news…

Prophets of Rage dropped the new Michael Moore-directed video for “Unfuck the World,” the first single from the super-important-group’s self-titled debut album, which was produced by Brendan O’Brien and comes out on September 15. Does that make their Riot Fest show the album release party? We hope so, because if you will it, it is no dream.

In other Prophets of Rage news, their turntablist DJ Lord posted footage of Brad Wilk, Tom Morello and Tim Commerford playing an instrumental version of their old band Audioslave‘s song “Like A Stone,” to honor said band’s late singer, the already-very-missed Chris Cornell (RIP).

Rancid dropped the third track from Trouble Maker, the band’s ninth album and their first since 2014’s …Honor Is All We Know. “Where I’m Going” is the classic ska version of Rancid, so if you love songs like “Time Bomb” and “I Wanna Riot,” you’ll wanna check this out. You’ll wanna check it out even if you don’t like those songs, because open-mindedness is the path to enlightenment.

Current Eagles of Death Metal guitarist and frequent Queens of the Stone Age contributor Dave Catching recently talked to Rolling Stone about all sorts of things serious (being attacked in Paris) and not (his beard), as well as Shared Hallucinations Pt. 1, his debut solo album, available now via Dine Alone Records. Don’t tug on his beard, for fuck’s sake.

Foo Fighters dropped a video today for “Run,” the scrappy up-and-coming rock band’s first new music since 2014’s Sonic Highways album, and it’s pretty fucking hilarious. We think they’re on to something here. This funny video-making style is what could finally propel these kids into the mainstream, you heard it here last!

Best Coast puts a porn company on blast for using their song…

It’s been brought to my attention that “Better Girl” from The Only Place is in a porn, which rules- but where’s my money @ManyVids?
