Daily Riot Fest Roundup

Daily Riot Fest Roundup

June 2nd, 2017
June 2, 2017 (June 6, 2017) // Riot Fest

Today is National Leave the Office Early Day, so go home now, you lazy sod. Moving on…

GWAR decapitating the president is not news to Riot Fest regulars, so clearly Kathy Griffin is NOT a Riot Fest regular. How else can you explain the fact that she stole GWAR’s genius when she was photographed holding (trigger warning) Donald Trump’s head? Allow bassist Beefcake The Mighty to enlighten you.

All Time Low release a new album today! It’s called Last Young Renegade, and they made a music video for the single “Dirty Laundry,” and you can buy collectable denim jackets and back patches, which will go a long way towards your initiation into the ruffians’ street gang.

Taking Back Sunday‘s New Again was released on this day in 2009. To reflect, we highly recommend that you sharpen your teeth and sink into this video.

In a landmark decision that’s being chalked up as a huge “W” for songwriters, David Lowery (from Cracker and Camper Van Beethoven) has settled his $150 million class-action lawsuit against Spotify. Billboard has laid out all the details, including just what in the hell happened, and what this means for songwriters.

Let’s take the songwriters bowling to celebrate!

ICYMI: Hot Water Music announced Light It Up, the follow up album to 2012’s Exister. It’s scheduled for release on September 15 via Rise Records, who has been kind enough to let you preorder the album. Check out the lyric video for the first single, “Never Going Back.” Or don’t. Chuck Ragan don’t give a shit.

Saul Williams shares a wild TBT about the time he won a speech contest in High School:

The Lawrence Arms‘ Brendan Kelly has some quality advice, as usual:

So, I’ve been beyond bed. I’ve been beyond bath. All that’s out there is toil and sadness, greasy pavement and dying. Stick to bed & bath

The Orwells let us know who they side with on Monday’s Bryce Harper vs. Hunter Strickland bench clearer:

Potty Mouth was on Last Call with Carson Daly recently:
